Name: David

Location: Atlanta

Favorite Teams: Spurs for basketball, all the Atlanta teams for other sports. Don't get me wrong, being a Spurs fan doesn't come from my city's lack of a basketball team, I've been a Spurs fan since I was 4.
Favorite Players: Any player I knew before they were great, namely Manu and Tony.
My favorite thing about Tony is: Leading the league in FG% as a point guard.
If I were ever to meet him I would: think that was pretty cool.
One interesting fact about me is: I got nothin'

20-Second Timeout: Parker's Focus [Wednesday,
March 1st, 2006]

Sure, he has the "A-List" girlfriend with the hit TV show. He is one the most recognizable athletes in his home country. And his face is on celebrity and sports magazines on two continents.

But Tony Parker says he is committed to basketball first and foremost. With a French rap video in the works, it might be easy to conclude that Parker has too many irons in the fire, but that's not the case. Parker doesn't have to tell you that hoops is number one with him right now -- he'll let his game do the talking.

Consistently wheeling by opponents, Parker's aggressiveness comes from a confidence that he has finally arrived. His hard work with shooting coach Chip Engelland on his midrange game has forced opponents to come out on him more and that sets up his first quick step. Bobby Jackson of Memphis applauded Parker's progress, saying it is always a difficult challenge to guard Parker and his variety of moves.

Parker's performance this season has drawn attention from far and wide, and his All-Star selection was well deserved. The music and celebrity might be fun, but its the basketball that makes Tony Parker who he is.

NEW YORK, Feb. 13 -- The Washington Wizards' Gilbert Arenas and the San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday Feb. 6 through Sunday Feb. 12.

Behind Arenas' averages of 31.8 points, 7.3 assists and 2.3 steals, the Wizards posted a 4-0 week with wins over Orlando, Golden State, Cleveland and Philadelphia. Arenas posted his sixth 40-plus-point outing of the season with 45 in the Wizards' 129-124 victory over the Warriors. On the day he was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star squad for the second time, Arenas collected his sixth double-double of the season with a 32-point, 10-assist effort in a 101-89 win over the Cavaliers.

With the Spurs in the middle of an eight-game road trip and in the midst of a franchise-high nine-game winning streak, Parker averaged 22.7 points and 8.3 assists as San Antonio went 3-0 for the week with wins over Toronto, New Jersey and Indiana. Parker led the Spurs with a 32-point outburst in a 92-88 victory over Indiana.

So I finally finished my mood icons...for the Spurs I mean. There were a lot of repeats, but I corrected that. If y'all are interested in seeing them all, here they are...under the cut of course. Ummm, I'm not sure how to share my creations, but if anyone knows and would like to use these icons, let me know.

20-Second Timeout [Wednesday,

20-Second Timeout: Tony Having All Star Year
by Bill Schoening, the radio voice of the Spurs

While it's true that Steve Nash, the league's reigning MVP, is helping to keep the Phoenix Suns thriving until the return of Amare Stoudamire, it's also hard to imagine where the San Antonio Spurs would be right now without the glistening play of Tony Parker, who should join Nash in Houston as a Western Conference All-Star.

Tony's still only 23 years of age, but now is well into his fifth year as a starting point guard on a championship caliber team, and is enjoying his finest season. He leads the league in points in the paint (490 through 1/17), has the best field goal percentage of any guard in the league (.535 through 1/17), and may be the quickest player in the NBA with the ball from one end of the court to the other (Wouldn't it be great to see a 94 foot race between Parker, TJ Ford, Allen Iverson and Chris Paul?).

In Monday night's win over Memphis, Parker ran circles around the Grizzlies, hitting 12 of 13 shots, most of them on drives to the basket. Parker has improved in nearly every aspect of his game, and comfort level in the system and with his teammates is quite evident.

Here's hoping that Tony is in Houston for the All-Star game...he's certainly deserving.

New here (and a request!) [Tuesday,
January 3rd, 2006]

Hi all, I've been a member for a while... what a great season TP is having so far, eh? Anyway, here's my little intro -

Name: Laura
Location: Harlingen, TX (in the valley for learned TX folk lol)
Favorite Teams: San Antonio Spurs
Favorite Players: Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Yao Ming, Dirk Nowitzki
My favorite thing about Tony is: His resilience and how he handles criticism
If I were ever to meet him I would: Hmm, good question - I'd probably be too shy to go up and speak to him lol I would just tell him he's my favorite player in the NBA and how I've rooted for him to do well ever since the Jason Kidd trade thing.
One interesting fact about me is: I'll use something Tony related... I, in fact, *do* have his autograph but a friend of mine got it for me. Was very nice :)

Anyway, is it okay to ask for an icon request here?

I'm deeply in love with this picture of Tony and would love an icon of it - I know what text I want to use - would anyone help me out? :)
